How to split a PDF or extract pages

A 40-page pack with one form you actually need is a common annoyance. You do not have to convert the whole thing to images. Split keeps the pages as PDF — smaller to email, still searchable, still a real document.

Extract a range as one PDF

  1. Open Split PDF and drop the file.
  2. Type a range such as 1-3,7,10- (10- means page 10 to the end), or click thumbnails.
  3. Leave the output on One PDF with selected pages.
  4. Download. The original file is unchanged.

One file per page

Choose One PDF per page (ZIP) when you need to drop page 4 into a chat and page 12 into a folder. Each selected page becomes its own PDF inside one ZIP.

Need a picture of one page for a slide? Use extract a page as an image instead.

Sideways pages

If the extracted page is rotated, open Rotate PDF, click the page until it is upright, and download. Rotation does not flatten the page.

Print a test of the extract before you throw away the original 40-pager. Split is a copy, not a destructive edit of the file on disk.

FAQ

Does splitting delete pages from the original?

No. The file you dropped is only read. The original on disk does not change.

Can I split several PDFs at once?

This screen works on one PDF at a time. Drop the next file after you have saved the first extract.
